A vast blue pit
The King of the World
Wrapping Earth’s feet
In an underwater world.
All was calm in the early days
Till Men’s invention came to wake
It angered the Ocean and set it ablaze
Metallic moving boxes gave the sea an ache
The calm waves turned vengeful
The winds roared with anger
The sea no longer peaceful
The rising of its temper
As still as death
It lay in waiting
To rob the last breath
Of a ship that came sailing
To the Ocean’s delight as it heard news
Of a majestic vessel setting sail soon
A revenge so sweet none could refuse
A ship named ‘Titanic’ cruising to its doom
Off it embarked on a noble journey
The unsinkable ship gliding silently by
Life, love, light and luxury
All in possession of the Captain’s eye
None of them knew
An iceberg lay waiting
Finally spotted by the operating crew
“Ice! Ice!” they kept on yelling
The crew was in confusion
The Captain in a daze
Hoping the ice was an illusion
Whilst turning the ship sideways
Alas, the vessel struck the ice of doom
Time stood still before running away
A deafening silence then quiet gloom
As life turned a darker shade of grey
Shouts and cries from passengers aboard
Pierced the night like knives on skin
They ran, they screamed, they pleaded to God
The tranquilizing melody of a musician’s violin
Waves of death embraced the ship
Drowning hope and draining light
As the unsinkable began to tip
Music turning into melodious fright
Cold burnt through the vessel’s veins
As lifeboats after lifeboats came to life
Separated loved ones gave in to their pains
Into despair and agony they had to dive
The ocean was but a silent uproar
Dragging its preys to their seabed graves
Those who survived had souls no more
Lost to the narcissistic, devious waves
Friends went down, strangers fell
Families scattered, loved ones perished
A tragedy so gruesome none could foretell
The final goodbye forever cherished
And yet the Ocean, the giant pot of blue
Lays in waiting for its up next attack
So heed this and beware if you ever sail through
If it pounces on you there’s no turning back!
