Darkness was looming
She was cowering
in the face of failure and dejection
scouting for the bravery she knew she did not have
Rain poured from above
She tried not to cry, kind of
holding onto the grief and gloom
as around her all went on, familiar as usual
Thunder roared and lightning flashed
She screamed in silence, heart crashed
Friend or foe, she knew not anymore
Slowly, heedlessly, she slipped like water through hands
Then the first ray of honey shone
It seeped into her blood and every bone
Alive, breathing the breath of life
Once more, flowers bloomed as she did too
Life is but a trampoline
bouncing up and down, the more she sees
The sun's out and she knows that finally
it's time to rise and shine
